As of January Dr. Jason Priset is offering guitar lessons to students in Westchester and Rockland Counties. He is offering lessons for all levels of players from beginner to advanced. The focus of lessons, as always, is first and foremost musicianship and technique. These are two foundations that can be built upon that will give students the ability to play in all styles. Although Dr. Priset has a busy performance schedule, he is very committed to all of his students and weekly, if not bi-weekly lessons are essential.
It is extremely important to choose the right teacher for each student. Someone with Dr. Priset’s experience and abilities can create a long-term plan based on the strengths and weaknesses of each student. Even if a child does not want to pursue music as a career goal, the benefits of learning a musical instrument are important for the development of cognitive skills in children. Dr. Priset fully understands the importance of this and puts the time and effort into creating a lesson plan that benefits the needs of each student, whether it is reading musical notation, scale reading, learning tab, or fingering chords.
